Vaccines

Protecting Lives Through Vaccination

At Sanofi, we believe in a Philippines where no one suffers or dies from a vaccine preventable disease. It’s why we are dedicated to providing vaccines that can help protect people from a wide range of severe infectious diseases at every stage of life.

Today, we are able to protect against 20 bacterial and viral diseases, including pertussis, diphtheria, typhoid fever, poliomyelitis, influenza and mumps.

The Importance of Vaccines for Children

Immunization is key in helping young children avoid vaccine-preventable diseases. However, according to the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), children in poor households (88.2%) are less likely than those in non-poor households (92.6%) to have been vaccinated against the six preventable childhood diseases(1).

Creating Vaccines, Protecting Life

Immunization or vaccination consists of introducing into the body of a healthy person a very small quantity of inactivated or weakened microbes of the disease. These microbes teach the body to defend itself and thus immunizing it against the disease. Click here to know more about how vaccination improves immunity to a particular disease.
